Amartüvshin’s Favourite Arias with Llŷr Williams

Reardon Smith Theatre
Mongolian baritone Amartüvshin Enkhbat delighted Festival of Voice audiences with a selection of his favourite operatic arias, accompanied by acclaimed Welsh pianist Llŷr Williams.

Having made his mark on Cardiff as the Audience Prize winner at last year’s BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, Amartüvshin returned to the city in a special evening of arias and songs by some of the world’s greatest composers alongside lesser known, but no less beautiful, music that awaits discovery. Favourites will include arias from Verdi’s Rigoletto, Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Borodin’s Prince Igor and Rachmaninov’s Aleko. An Honoured Artist of Mongolia since the age of 24, Amartüvshin has won several awards and earned an international reputation with performances around the world, including Paris, Moscow, New York, Beijing, Seoul and Singapore.

A favourite of Welsh audiences, pianist Llŷr Williams is currently undertaking a 3-season exploration of Beethoven’s music, including a sonata cycle at London’s Wigmore Hall and the RWCMD, and a complete concerto series with the Scottish chamber orchestra. He is a regular accompanist for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, and has recently performed with soprano Jamie Barton and baritone Quinn Kelsey.
