Georgia + Summer Ghost + LUK

Chapter Arts Centre

As believable a sensual soul-bearer as she is raucous provocateur, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Georgia Barnes came to Cardiff as part of Festival of Voice 2016.

Born and raised in north-west London, Georgia has been steadily establishing herself as an important fixture in the city’s most singular and imaginative artistic circles, playing drums for Kwes and Kate Tempest among others. Gradually stepping out from behind the drums, she emerged as an irresistible creative force in her own right with 2014’s Come In EP.

Influenced by artists such as Missy Elliot, MIA and Karin Dreijer Andersson, Georgia’s debut album – Georgia – marks her out as an immaculate curator, distinctive songwriter and self-taught producer of soulful, progressive and highly-defined electronic pop.

Progressive songwriter and producer Summer Ghost supported Georgia at Festival of Voice. His abrasive electronic compositions are emotional at their core, warping and contorting sounds to create music that veers between cinematic sound design and pop hooks. 2014’s Feel4Ever EP showcased Summer Ghost’s ability to create affecting pop compositions, whilst the instrumental magnificence of this year’s Catechism/Muzzle demonstrate his skills as a producer.

Summer Ghost

Born and raised in a deep valley in South Wales, LUK have emerged as an exciting unconventional, experimental electronic duo. Their bubbling synths, bass-heavy beats and woozy rhythms all fuse and seduce listeners into a warm trance. Currently, one of the ten artists chosen by the Forté Project, on a 12 month development scheme, LUK bring a palette of colours, sounds and swirling movements into a live setting. LUK are currently recording their debut EP, released in the next few months. | @summerghost @00000luk
