Angela Denoke with WNO Orchestra

Conducted by Tomáš Hanus

WNO Music Director Tomáš Hanus is joined by the distinguished German soprano Angela Denoke for a programme that includes Berlioz’s ‘Summer Nights’ – one of the most magical of all orchestral song-cycles – and the closing scene from Janáček’s tragic story of Emilia Marty who, like Shakespeare’s Othello, ruins everything that nature and life have given her. The programme is completed by the virtuosic orchestral suite from Richard Strauss’s celebration of old Vienna.
