Refugee Food Stories

At the Festival Hub on selected dates from 7–17 June.

Refugee Food Stories brings together Oasis Cardiff and Lia’s Kitchen to serve up a selection of authentic international dishes at our Festival Hub. Delicious dishes from Sudan, Korea, Albania and the Middle East will make up the Oasis Festival menu. The food truck will be run by refugees and the Oasis team, who are being trained and upskilled to provide their delicious dishes to our Cardiff community and festival-goers. We invite you to break bread with your neighbours and to join us to have beautiful conversations about the story of their food at our brand-new Festival Hub.

Oasis Cardiff helps refugees and asylum seekers integrate into their local community in Cardiff. They provide weekly cookery sessions, women-only sessions, craft sessions and language classes as well as a range of other activities, often centered on the kitchen!

Lia’s Kitchen is a home-based food venture run by Lia Moutselou, a self-taught chef. Lia runs pop-up food events, cooking classes and social enterprise projects around the world. She is inspired by Greek food, sustainability and world flavours.
